Island, Beaches

Coral Cove Beach

C oral Cove is a tiny bay with coarse reddish sand. The beach here is very clean: there are no bottles and old palm branches beneath your feet. On the left and on the right there are gigantic boulders growing right from the sand, like frightening guards, protecting an access to the bay from the sea. In glades between the boulders you can find hiding places to get away from strangers sight in this by far secluded oasis.…

Crystal Bay Beach

C rystal Bay or Thongtakian is a small sandy beach, surrounded by severe-looking cliffs and boulders. Conglomerations of those stone guards secure the entrance into this green tiny bay from the sea. The sand on the shore and on the sea bed is very light, fine and soft. Hewn by salty water big rocks are scattered over the beach, sea bed and by the shore. Yet, there is a place for a good swim here, and for lying and sunbathing in the shallows. …

Laem Nan Beach

L aem-Nan beach will be attractive for those, who prefer spending time with a book or with a cocktail on a deck chair and watching tropical landscapes to water sports and games. Those, who are keen on sport, will have to look for another place for rest: Laem-Nan is only suitable for jogging early in the morning or before going to bed. You can sit or walk in the water – it is too shallow for swimming. However, the bottom is mainly oozy with clusters of seaweed and sharp coral chips. It is not very pleasant to walk on it barefoot, moreover, it is possible to cut your feet.…

Lamai Beach

P erhaps, Lamai could be called the best beach for those, who feel like diving into the water right here and right now. At the same time, the sea won’t be cloudy as on Maenam, Bophut or Big Buddha Beach. The water here is deep and clean, and on a clear day – it is of jade-green shade. In order to submerge up to your shoulders it is only enough to make a few steps on a sandy bed without any silt. If there are some shreds of seaweed, it is only after storms, when they are thrown onto the shore from the depths of the stormy sea.…

Hua Thanon Beach

T he northern part of Hua Thanon Beach is a small bay. There are smoothed by the water stones on the shore here, and the sand is coarse and of light reddish hue. Pleasure boats are anchored by the shore, and separate yachts and motorboats, which mostly belong to the centre of water sports, which office is situated right here. Southwards the beach stretches out into a spacious, a bit stretching out into the sea, coast line, and grainy sand is replaced by smooth flour of greyish-and-white colour.…

Nahai Beach

N ahai Beach is not the place, where you can jump at a run into the sea. It is shallow here at high tide, and at low tide, you will have to walk a very long way to the water. The sandy strip of the beach is from 15 up to 40 meters wide in different places. It mergers into the shallows and sandbanks, stretching out to the horizon for hundreds of meters (in the widest place – for about half a kilometer). There is a narrow coral range, ringing the aquatic area of the beach along its whole perimeter. It prevents the formation of waves, and at high tide, all the space of the aquatic area if filled by a thin layer of water, smooth like a mirror.…

Natien Beach

L aem-Nan beach will be attractive for those, who prefer spending time with a book or with a cocktail on a deck chair and watching tropical landscapes to water sports and games. Bang Kao Beach

T he sea on Bang Kao Beach is shallow with a bad – mainly oozy and stony – bed. In the east the area of shallow water is the most extensive: it stretches into the sea for more than 400 meters. The strip of the shallows narrows westward of the beach. Dense coral gardens start just after the shallows. It is because of them the sea bed is so unpleasant. On the one hand, they are the centre of concentration of sea wildlife and produce a lot of organic waste. On the other hand, they restrain the tide, preventing it from clearing the bed.…

Toong Krut Beach

T he sandy coast of Thong Krut may be called a beach until you start to swim. You will have to go somewhere else to do that. The sea bottom here is stony and sandy with sticky mud, and the water is far from being transparent. Moreover, the shallows stretch for a couple of kilometers. It is only comfortable for fishing boats in such conditions: to make it possible for them to reach the shore, locals have dug a deep moat here.…
